Dewald Brevis (born 29 April 2003) is a South African cricketer.[1][2][3] In April 2021, he was signed by Northerns ahead of the 2021–22 domestic cricket season in South Africa.[4] He made his Twenty20 debut on 8 October 2021, for the South Africa Under-19s in the 2021–22 CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out tournament.[5]
In November 2021, he was named in South Africa's team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.[6] During the tournament, he scored two centuries and three fifties,[7] and was named the Player of the Tournament, after scoring 506 runs.[8] In February 2022, Brevis was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 Indian Premier League auction.[9]
He is also known as 'Baby AB' for his playing resemblance to AB de Villiers.[10][11]
