"Diamonds" is an instrumental composed by Jerry Lordan. In 1963, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan's recording of the piece became a number one hit in the UK Singles Chart,[3] where it spent three weeks at the top of the UK chart.[4]

Jet Harris used a Fender Bass VI electric guitar for the recording[5] and Jimmy Page played rhythm on an acoustic guitar.[citation needed]

Other Versions[]

  • In May 1963, the Ventures recorded it for their Surfin' album.[6]
  • The Shadows, without their former members Harris and Meehan, recorded "Diamonds" in 1983.
