Dinah Eleonora Hinz, married name Hinz-Weiss (14 February 1934 – 14 July 2020) was a German film and stage actress and audiobook narrator.^[1]

Hinz died in Zürich on 14 July 2020, aged 86.^[1]

Life[]

Dinah Hinz was the oldest child of the actress Ehmi Bessel from her liaison with the aviator general Ernst Udet. Shortly before the birth, her mother married the actor Werner Hinz. Dinah Hinz was the half-sister of the actors Michael Hinz and Knut Hinz.

Hinz grew up in Berlin and Hamburg and originally wanted to be an archaeologist. But Fritz Kortner discovered the 15-year-old student for the stage. During her training (1950/1951) at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, she also had engagements at the Residenztheater in Munich and at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
