Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Vijay Kumar Mandal won and became MLA from this seat. He secured total 59541 votes. Lok Jan Shakti Party candidate Rajendra Prasad Singh stood second with total 51313 votes. He lost by 8228 votes.
