DOCTOR VICTOR are a rock band established and formed in 2012 in Prague, Czech republic, by Victor – front man of the band, graduate of the Jaroslav Jezek Conservatory in Prague, and holder of a scholarship at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Its music is based primarily on the legacy of traditional rock from the late 1960s and early 1970s, but also with elements of blues. They do not use guitar effects on live shows and play their own repertoire in English based on guitar riffs, harmonized vocals and showmanship.

Career[]

DOCTOR VICTOR won the Hard Rock Rising 2013 contest in Czech republic [1] and won the Czech Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) contest in 2014. In the 2014 Global Battle Of the Bands Worldwide Final in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the band was placed 2nd.[2] In April 2014 they were on the cover of Muzikus, Czech music magazine[3] and their single Beautiful Age got into TOP 70 rock songs in Unsigned Only Music Competition, USA in 2015.[4] They continued to perform live opening for popular Czech bands such as Lucie [5] and Chinaski.[6] Their debut album 1st Prescription was released on 21 March 2016 and 2 months later they were chosen by AC/DC as their support-band for the Prague show of their Rock or Bust world tour.[7][8] In February 2017 they started their first official tour named Music is my drug tour at clubs and Czech festivals. In May they were on cover of Rock & All music magazine.[9] At the end of summer 2017 they played for the first time in United Kingdom,[10] in 6 cities including London.[11] In October, the information about cooperation of DOCTOR VICTOR on upcoming solo album of Dan McCafferty, original lead singer of the band Nazareth, was publicly revealed.[12] Single StandUP was released in January 2018 with announcement to participate in Czech national selection for Eurovision song contest.[13] The song was chosen from more than 400 submissions from all over the world.[14] StandUP was selected as the only one song with rock sound among six songs in competition.[15] The single is based on Victor's personal experience and dedicated to all the people who need to rise up from the bottom. [16] The band got back on tour in 2018 to UK and added other European countries such as Germany, Netherlands or Austria. After finishing the summer tour, DOCTOR VICTOR was selected as TOP 10 semi-finalist for the KISS KRUISE 2018 competition.[17] There is DOCTOR VICTOR MUSIC ACADEMY connected to the band that was in May 2018 visited by Ida Kristine Nielsen, former Bass player of Prince.[18]
