Donati Primi Salla is a Tanzanian Lawyer who is currently serving as Director-General of the Tanzania Social Support Foundation, the President of the Pan African Law Students' Association and the incumbent President of the Pan African Forum of Civil Societies.[1][2]

Salla is known for his contribution to the establishment of the Pan African Forum of Civil Societies.[3][4]

Early life[]

Salla was born at Mduka Odede Hamlet in Mkomongo Village which is located at Kibosho Magharibi Ward, Kibosho Division, Moshi Rural District, Kilimanjaro Region, the United Republic of Tanzania.[5]

Education[]

Salla did his primary education at Mkomongo Primary School in Moshi Rural District from 1996 to 2002 where he obtained a Certificate of Primary Education. Having passed his Primary School Education Examinations, Salla firstly joined Mangio Secondary School in Mwanga District of Kilimanjaro Region where he studied the form one studies in 2004 and thereafter in January 2005 he transferred to Uru Secondary School in Moshi Rural District of Kilimanjaro Region where he obtained a Certificate of Secondary Education in 2007. He did his Advanced Level Education from 2008 up to 2010 at Mwakaleli Secondary School in Rungwe District of Mbeya City where he obtained an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education. Salla earned his Bachelor of Arts with Education degree majoring in History, Swahili Linguistics and Swahili Literature as teaching subjects from Stella Maris Mtwara University College in 2013 and also he earned his Bachelor of Laws from the Open University of Tanzania.[6]

Activism[]

Salla's record of activism began in 2008 when he was studying in high school as he used to campaign for student welfare.[7][8][9] He used to be a student leader in various positions varying from primary to secondary school. When he joined the Stella Maris Mtwara University College, he then became a Permanent Secretary for Food and Health Services in the Collegiate Students' Organization in 2011 and later he became the Vice President of the Collegiate Students' Organization in 2012, a position which prompted him to become the Deputy Secretary General of the Students' Union of the Saint Augustine University of Tanzania and finally the Secretary General of the National Students' Union of Tanzania which is officially known as Tanzania Higher Learning Institutions Students' Organization.[10][11] On 8 May 2015, Salla was named the 01st Secretary General of the Pan African Confederation of Youth Associations from may 09, 2015 to July 24, 2016.[12]


Also he is among the founding members of the Tanzania Social Support Foundation and he is currently advocating for youth empowerment in Tanzania and Africa at large in matters related to policy and laws[13][14]
