Double Down News (DDN) is a British alternative media outlet founded in 2016 by Yannis Mendez.[1] Funded through Patreon and originally known as Core Politics, it produces interviews, films and short films from a left-wing perspective.[2]

DDN contributors have included George Monbiot,[3] Darryl McDaniels,[4] Chris Packham,[5] Ken Loach,[6] Guz Khan,[7] Nabil Abdul Rashid[8] Owen Jones,[9] David Graeber,[10] John McDonnell,[11] Peter Jukes[12] and Matt Kennard.[13]

In August 2017, DDN published video evidence debunking "Traingate", when Jeremy Corbyn had been accused of lying about a Virgin train being full and him being forced to sit on the floor.[14] In October 2018, due to a "violation of community standards", Facebook removed a DDN video featuring George Monbiot talking about the atrocities of Christopher Columbus.[15] It was restored the following day, accompanied by an apology.[3]
