Dubai Smart Police Stations

The Smart Police Station (SPS) is a system of interactive kiosks by Dubai Police Force.[1] The self-service units function as digital police stations that provide services to the public previously offered at conventional police stations only.

The project is the first of its kind[citation needed] in the Middle East.[2] The kiosks allow users to complete transactions without human intervention and without having to wait in queues or visiting police stations traditionally, with the goal of reducing customers physically visiting police stations by 80 percent.[clarify][3]

Services[]

The self-service police stations are open 24 hours, seven days a week and offer 27 services and 33 sub services[clarify] in six different languages[4] in the following categories:

Criminal services[]

Users are able to register for a request for victim support, reporting a bounced cheque, filing a labour complaint, getting aid from the police eye,[clarification needed] filing criminal complaints, request for home security, inquire about police reports and report human trafficking.

Traffic services[]

The SPS offers the services of reissuing a traffic accident report, applying for a traffic status certificate, applying for changing a vehicle colour and to pay fines online.

Certificates and permits[]

The customers can apply for lost item certificates, good conduct certificates,[clarification needed] corpse entry permits,[clarification needed] night work permits, road closure permits, clearance certificates and TWIMC[clarification needed] certificates.

Community services[]

For the community, the SPS allows customers to apply for tourist security services, events security requests, request for leaders at your service,[clarification needed] job vacancies, heart patient services, delivery of found items and the search for lost items.[5]
