'Dumbo Gets Mad' is a psych-rock duo project from Italy. The project started out when band members Luca Bergomi and Carlotta Menozzi moved to Los Angeles in 2010. The band's debut, Elephants at the Door, has received several positive reviews and reached over 100K digital downloads.

Tour and notable performances[]

From 2011, the duo has been supported by two more members: Andrea Scarfone (bass), also a member of Italy's acclaimed rock-band Julie's Haircut,[1] and Lorenzo Rotteglia (drums). Dumbo Gets Mad performed in different venues and festivals around Italy such as at Circolo degli Artisti in Rome and MI AMI festival in Milan. In 2012, the band opened Neon Indian's concert in Padua at Summer Student Festival 2012 and played at Find Out Festival 2012 in Marseille with Bleached and The Black Lips. In autumn 2012 the duo played a mini Californian tour, closing the first album experience. On February 6, 2013, the duo released their 2nd LP titled "Quantum Leap", with Bad Panda Records.[2] On November 19, 2015, the duo released their 3rd LP titled "Thank You Neil", with Bad Panda Records and Ghost Records.[3] On March 29, 2019, the duo released their single "Makes You Fly", with the record label "Nice Guys". On September 27, 2019, the duo released their single "Voodoo on Gold", with the record label "Nice Guys". In October 2019, Dumbo Gets Mad was booked to tour United States east and west coasts, with notable presence at Desert Daze Festival in California. Unfortunately the whole tour was postponed because the band visas were initially denied. During March 2020, Dumbo Gets Mad toured United States, hitting cities like Chicago, Madison, Lexington, Columbus, Cleveland, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Mobile. The live band included Lorenzo Rotteglia (drums), Ivan Torelli (bass) and Michele Osvaldo Pane (keys and soundscapes). Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, all the rest of the tour, including major festivals like SXSW in Austin and Treefort Music Fest in Boise, was postponed for the second time.
