Dynamsoft Corp. is a multinational software development company with its headquarter in Vancouver, Canada. It provides software development kit (SDK) solutions for document capture and barcode applications for various usage scenarios. These SDKs help developers meet document imaging, scanning and barcode reader application requirements when developing web, desktop, or mobile document management applications.

Dynamsoft has a global presence with customers in North America, Asia, and Europe, with all sorts of organizations including local governments, non-profit organizations, and businesses of small and large sizes.

Amy Gu is the CEO of Dynamsoft. Amy was an Associate Professor at AI Institute at Zhejiang University, a visiting scholar at UBC, and an exchange professor at SFU. She co-founded Dynamsoft in 2003.

History[]

Dynamsoft was founded in September 2003. The company is privately held and organically funded.

The key areas of Dynamsoft's research and development are document imaging and barcode decoding. The SDKs are used by developers to remove the need for them to develop their own code. This removes months of work for them by eliminating the need to code as well as understand relevant industry standards and requirements. Over the last 18 years, many companies across the world have used Dynamsoft's SDK in their daily workflows to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

In 2005, Dynamsoft became a Microsoft Certified Partner.

In 2011, Dynamsoft joined the TWAIN Working Group and has since been an associate member of the group.

In 2021, Dynamsoft received the ISO 27001 certificate from the British Standards Institution (BSI).[1]

Document and Image Capture SDKs

Dynamsoft provides a line of TWAIN scanning and document imaging SDKs. At the core are two document scanning SDKs optimized for web and .NET desktop applications respectively.

Dynamic Web TWAIN (DWT) is a browser-based TWAIN scanning SDK for embedding document scanning, editing, uploading and saving capabilities for images captured within web applications. It allows users to develop scanning applications with just a few lines of JavaScript code. It supports all mainstream browsers on Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile.

Dynamic .NET TWAIN (DNT) is a .NET SDK with components in C# and VB .NET for developers to embed a document scanning module easily and rapidly in WinForms and WPF desktop applications. It provides APIs for scanner and webcam software development.

Dynamsoft Camera Enhancer (DCE) is a multifunctional camera module that has high-level APIs and video processing algorithms. It has a built-in API that toggles between manual and autofocus. It supports iOS and Android with its Objective-C/Swift and Java interfaces.

Barcode Scanning and Data Capture SDKs

Dynamsoft Barcode Reader (DBR) is an SDK for a developer to embed barcode reading functionality in web, desktop or mobile applications using just a few lines of code. This includes Android, iOS, JavaScript, Linux, and Windows platforms. It provides enterprise-grade barcode scanning for common 1D and 2D barcode symbols, Postal codes, Direct Part Marking (DPM) codes and others.

Dynamsoft Label Recognition (DLR) uses OCR to allow users to recognize accompanying text and other text alongside a barcoded label. Dynamsoft Label Recognition is suitable for expanding data capture capabilities in many industries such as automotive, government, retail, and warehousing. Its uses include price tags in supermarkets, inventory labels in warehouses, VINs on cars, vehicle license plates, and ID cards

Dynamsoft Panorama™ (DPS) is an accompanying module of Dynamsoft Barcode Reader and is for warehouse managers to have a panoramic view of inventory so they can uncover any missed barcode scans. Dynamsoft Panorama can be used by inventory managers s to ensure 100 per cent barcode scan success rates.

Version Control Product

Dynamsoft also offers developers its SourceAnywhere application. It is an SQL Server based version control tool. It is designed as a replacement for MS Visual SourceSafe. The hosting version is provided with the same set of features.
