Easter Sunday is an upcoming American comedy film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and written by Ken Cheng. Jo Koy stars as a fictionalized version of himself as he attends a family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday. The film is set to be released by Universal Pictures on April 1, 2022.

Production[]
The comedy film Easter Sunday from director Jay Chandrasekhar was announced on February 16, 2021, with Jo Koy attached to star.[1] In April, Eva Noblezada and Brandon Wardell joined the cast.[2] In May, Lou Diamond Phillips was cast as a fictionalized version of himself.[3]
Principal photography began on May 3, 2021 in Vancouver.[4][5] On May 29, Sharon Cuneta revealed that she was originally going to star in the film but had to drop out due to a false positive COVID-19 test; her role was given to Tia Carrere.[6] In July, Universal Pictures gave the film a release date for April 1, 2022, and confirmed that Jimmy O. Yang, Lydia Gaston, Rodney To, Jay Chandrasekhar, and Tiffany Haddish were part of the cast.[7]
