Ectobius lapponicus is a species in the order Blattodea ("cockroaches and termites"), in the class Insecta ("insects").[1][2] A common name for Ectobius lapponicus is "dusky cockroach".[3]

Distribution[]

The distribution range of Ectobius lapponicus includes Europe, Northern Asia (excluding China), the northeastern United States, and southeastern Canada. Once thought native to Europe recent discoveries[4] indicate the genus originated in North America. The first recorded sightings in North America were in 1984.[2][5][6] [[]] [[]]
