Elizabeth "Liz" Spayd is an American  [de]. She was a managing editor at The Washington Post,[2] the editor of the Columbia Journalism Review, the sixth public editor of The New York Times,[3][4] and a transparency consultant for Facebook.[5][6] During her tenure at The New York Times, she took a number of controversial stances,[2] and the paper eliminated her role in 2017.[7][8][9]
