Enda O'Coineen, born on 15 October 1955 in Galway, is an Irish sailor, navigator and skipper.[2]

Biography[]

He acquired Mike Goling IMOCA 60 and renamed it "Kilcullen Voyager - Team Ireland". He was the first Irishman to enter the Vendee Globe he participated in the 2016-2017 Vendée Globe he broke the mast near New Zealand and had to retire.[3]

In early 2018, Enda O'Coineen decided to finish the planned trip of the Vendée Globe on the Imoca "The Breath of the North for The Imagine Project" belonging to Thomas Ruyant. He finished this journey on 1 April 2018 arriving in Sables d'Olonne. He was the first Irishman in history to circumnavigate the world on a solo sailing boat.[4]
