Eno James Ibanga is a Nigerian academic. He is a professor of solid state physics/materials science. He serves as the Vice Chancellor for Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU). On the 3rd of August 2020, His Excellency Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel appointed Professor Eno James Ibanga as commissioner in the state ministry works & Fire service. He is married and blessed with children.

James Ibanga earned his PhD in Solid State Physics in 2000 from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Career[]

Ibanga began his career as a university lecturer at University of Calabar in 1982. He was appointed Professor of Physics in University of Uyo in 2008 and Head of Physics Department and Dean of Student Affairs. Ibanga is a Physics lecturer. He was Associate Professor in Nassarawa State University, Keffi, in 2004 and a Senior Lecturer, University of Agriculture, Makurdi in 2002. He was a lecturer in the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 1986.

Ibanga was a Visiting Lecturer to various institutions including Akwa Ibom State University from 2009 - 2013, Benue State University, Makurdi, 2006-2011 and University of Agriculture, Makurdi, 2007-2010. His is an external examiner for University of Abuja; Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, Ogbomosho; University of Ilorin and Obafemi Awolowo University. He has been a member of Faculty Senates, Boards and Committees in these Universities. He served NUC as member and also chairman of accreditation panels of degree programmes in physical sciences.

James Ibanga is married with children.

Professor Eno James Ibanga married Dr. Ebu who was born in the city of Benin, Dr. Ebi Eno-Ibanga had her primary education in the Edo State capital, as well as in Lagos State. She had her secondary education at the Federal Government College, Ijanikin and Government College Ojo Badagary, Lagos where she obtained her West African School Certificate.

She later proceeded to the then Bendel State University, Ekpoma for her University education and bagged a Bachelor of Education degree in French. In her quest for further education, Dr. Ebi registered for Post-Graduate studies in the Benue State University where she obtained her Masters Degree in Educational Management and PhD in Educational Administration and planning from the Nasarawa State University in 2012.

After her mandatory one (1) year NYSC scheme in Makurdi, Dr. Ebi Eno-Ibanga has served in many Professional and Administrative capacities in the following Establishments:

• Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (Administrative Assistant, Administrative Officer, Information/Protocol Officer)
• College of Food Science and Technology (College officer)
• Nasarawa State University (Assistant Registrar and Head of Administration, Office of the Registrar)
• University of Uyo (Senior Assistant Registrar, Head - Publications Unit in the Directorate of General Administration. Also served as the Head of Administration in the Registrar's office.)
• Akwa Ibom State University (Deputy Registrar in the then Establishment Division)

She is a detribalized Nigerian and an Akwa Ibomite of no mean repute. She is an advocate of peaceful coexistence. She is a Christian, a youth counsellor and a passionate member of Winners Chapel (Living Faith Church). She has as her hobby, reading of novels, creative works and listening to good music.

She is happily married to Prof. Eno James Ibanga and they are blessed with three (3) lovely and well grown up children. She is a career University Administrator with a highly commendable record of steady and impactful service. Dr. Ebi Eno-Ibanga has grown through the ranks from an Administrative Assistant and today, she is the Human Resource (HR) Director of Akwa Ibom State University
