Errol Anders Robinson (born October 1, 1994) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association of Professional Baseball.

Amateur career[]

A native of Boyds, Maryland, Robinson attended St. John's High School in Washington, D.C. and the University of Mississippi. In 2014, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and returned to the league in 2015 to play for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, where he was named a league all-star.[1][2]

Professional career[]

Los Angeles Dodgers[]

Robinson was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 6th round of the 2016 MLB draft.[3][4] He signed, and in his debut season he hit .282 in 55 games for the rookie league Ogden Raptors in 2016 before splitting the 2017 season among the Great Lakes Loons, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and Tulsa Drillers, hitting a combined .270 with seven home runs and 35 RBIs in 95 games. For the 2018 season he returned to Tulsa,[5] slashing .247/.309/.353 with ten home runs, fifty RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in 117 games.[6]

Robinson began the 2019 season with the Oklahoma City Dodgers.[7] He played in 107 games in 2019, between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, hitting .260.[8] Robinson did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[9]

Cincinnati Reds[]

On December 10, 2020, Robinson was claimed by the Cincinnati Reds in the minor league portion of the 2020 Rule 5 Draft.[10] In 2021, Robinson played for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and Triple-A Louisville Bats, hitting a cumulative .194/.309/.262 with 1 home run and 12 RBI in 65 games between the two teams. Robinson was released by the Reds organization on August 17, 2021.[11]

Sioux City Explorers[]

On August 22, 2021, Robinson signed with the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association of Professional Baseball.[12] Robinson played in 14 games for the team, hitting .204/.264/.286 with 1 home run and 7 RBI.
