Euan Michael Burton MBE (born 31 March 1979) is a Scottish judoka (a Judo practitioner).

Biography[]

Born in Ascot, Berkshire and living in Edinburgh, Burton represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics in the Half-Middleweight (under 81 kg) Judo event. Burton was educated at Pencaitland Primary School, Ross High School and the University of Edinburgh. He was an Individual Bursar in 1998-99 at the University.

Burton is currently concentrating his efforts as a development coach for JudoScotland after his disappointing result at London 2012

Burton was named Scotland's flagbearer for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.[1] At the Games, he won Gold Medal in the 100 kg category. He has since announced his retirement and return to full-time coaching.[citation needed]

Burton was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to judo.[2][3]
