Eva Doležalová (born May 5, 1991) is a Czech director, screenwriter, actress, and producer.[1] She speaks English, French, Czech, Italian, Polish, and Spanish. She is also an ambassador of White Ribbon Foundation

Career[]

At the age of 10, Eva Doležalová[2] began acting in Czech films and theatrical productions as an actress and co-writer of plays. At 18, she moved to London to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She worked as well on films with well-known directors such as Shane Black or Mike Figgis with whom she co-wrote and camera-operated a film Kudelksi.[3]

After completing her studies, she moved to Paris where she began to find her own artistic voice and realized her long-time dream for filmmaking, and started pursuing her writing and directing skills.[citation needed]

Eva moved to Los Angeles in January 2016, where she quickly completed her first film, Sound of Sun, starring Suki Waterhouse, Sean Penn, and herself, released by NOWNESS.[4]

The film was met with critical acclaim within the industry. She has since directed other shorts such as Carte Blanche, starring Dylan Sprouse, Suki Waterhouse, Jack Kilmer for which she's received an Audience Award in Mammoth Film Festival in February 2019 and a Breakout Director Award in Capri Hollywood Film Festival 2020. Eva also wrote and directed a horror-driven short Butcher Boy, starring Jack Kilmer and Camille Rowe which was released by DAZED.[citation needed]

In May 2020, Eva Doležalová will be releasing her new short Maestro, starring Karel Dobry, Clara McGregor, , and another short film named Anima Us inspired by Carl Jung's theory of Anima and animus.[citation needed]
