Evangelical Church of India

The Evangelical Church of India (ECI) is a Christian denomination in India. It operates the [1] in Allahabad, the in Kolkata and the in Chennai.[2] Its came into existence because of the activity of the Oriental Missionary Society, (OMS International).[3] The church has more than 100,000 members.[4] The denomination is relatively progressive and, in 2012, ordained its first openly transgender pastor.[5]
