Excuse Me Dentist, It's Touching Me![Jp. 1] is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sho Yamazaki. It has been serialized on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ since May 2020, with its chapters collected into three tankōbon volumes as of July 2021.

Premise[]

The series focuses on Takuma Kurosumi, the member of a yakuza group who, during an appointment, immediately falls in love with the female dentist Tomori Shirayuki. However, unbeknownst to Takuma, Tomori is actually a cross-dressing man who is also member of another yakuza group that rivals Takuma's.[2]

Production[]

In 2019, Sho Yamazaki published a one-shot manga on the free mobile app and website Shōnen Jump+ on October 5. At the time of its release, the one-shot won first place on a Twitter trend, exceeding 2.6 million views and becoming the most viewed one-shot work by Shōnen Jump+ in history.[3] Due to the popularity of the one-shot, Yamazaki decided to adapt it as a full-length serialization on Shōnen Jump+.[4]

Publication[]

Excuse Me Dentist, It's Touching Me! is written and illustrated by Sho Yamazaki. The manga series began its serialization on Shueisha's online magazine Shōnen Jump+ on May 16, 2020.[5] Shueisha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on October 2, 2020.[6] As of July 2, 2021, three volumes have been released.[7]

The series has been licensed for simultaneous publication in North America as it is released in Japan, with its chapters being digitally launched in English by Shueisha on its Manga Plus service.[8]

Reception[]

As of February 2021, Excuse Me Dentist, It's Touching Me! had over 3 million views on the Shōnen Jump+ platform.[12] As of July 2021, the manga had over 100.000 copies in circulation.[7]
