F M Zahid Hossain afwc,psc​ is a Major General of Bangladesh Army and head of the Construction Supervision Consultant of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge.[1][2]

Early life[]

Hossain graduated from Jhenidah Cadet College in 1986.[3] He completed his Bachelors in Science from University of Chittagong.[3] He has a Bachelors and Masters in Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.[3] He has a Masters in Defense Studies from the National University of Bangladesh.[3] He has an executive MBA from the American International University-Bangladesh.[3]

Career[]

He served at Directorate of Works and Chief Engineer (Army) in Army Headquarters while he was Lieutenant Colonel. Hossain also severed in the Military Institute of Science and Technology from September 2011 to October 2012 as a senior instructor.[3] He worked at the Engineering Center and School of Military Engineering.[4]

From 21 December 2014 to 02 September 2015, Hossain was the head of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Military Institute of Science and Technology.[5][6]

In July 2021, Hossain distributed relief material in Zajira Upazila, Shariatpur District during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh.[7]
