Farm to Market Road 1044 (FM 1044) is a 7.787-mile (12.532 km) farm-to-market road in Comal and Guadalupe counties in the U.S. state of Texas.[1]

Route description[]

FM 1044 begins in central New Braunfels, at an intersection with the northbound frontage road of IH 35 at exit #185.[2] While it is generally north–south in direction, it is signed as an east–west route. The route's eastern terminus is at FM 78 east of Marion.[1][3]

History[]

FM 1044 was originally designated as a route in Knox County on November 23, 1948, from US 82 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of the Baylor County line, southward 3 miles (4.8 km). On December 17, 1952, it was extended southward 1.9 miles (3.1 km). On October 28, 1953, the designation was cancelled, and FM 1044's mileage was transferred to FM 266.[1]

The current FM 1044 designation was established on October 28, 1953, connecting US 81 (now the IH 35 freeway) to FM 78.[1]
