Fearful Attack of the Flying Saucers (Japanese: 空飛ぶ円盤恐怖の襲撃, Hepburn: Soratobu Enban: Kyōfu no Shūgeki) is a 1956 independently made Japanese tokusatsu science fiction film directed and written by Shinichi Sekizawa and produced by Kokumotsu films.
The film was considered lost until a 16mm cut was found in 2010 and sold for auction online for 2.1 million yen.[1][2]
Plot[]
During the Cold War, flying saucers from the M87 Nebula attacked cities around the world. The rocket R1 produced as a secret weapon by Dr. Hoshina, an authority on space science, challenges the disk that destroys the city by rejecting the attack of the Self-Defense Forces together with the mysterious robot.

Production[]
The film was Shinichi Sekizawa's first and only role as a director after working as an assistant director for Hiroshi Shimizu and special effects by Sadao Uemura and Shigeji Nishitani.[4][a]
