Federal Polytechnic, Oko

Federal Polytechnic, Oko is a Nigerian polytechnic located in Oko, Anambra State. It was founded in 1979[1] and was previously known as College of Arts, Science and Technology.[2][3]

The climatic condition of the host community, Oko ranges between 28 - 42 °C. Federal Polytechnic, Oko is one of the fastest developing tertiary institutions in Nigeria with high futuristic disposition. It has functional memorandum of understanding with different universities within and outside the country.[4][5]

In February 4, 2019, Federal Polytechnic Oko had its first female substantive Rector. She is Dr Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo.[6] She was a chief lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Kaduna Polytechnic.[7] [8]

The Polytechnic has three campuses.[13]

  • The main campus is at Oko which occupies a total land area of 89 hectares.
  • Ufuma campus occupies a total land area of 52 hectares.
  • Atani campus has a total area of 40 hectares.[1]
