The Fifth Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge (Thai: สะพานมิตรภาพ ไทย-ลาว แห่งที่ 5, pronounced [sā.pʰāːn mít.trā.pʰâːp tʰāj lāːw hɛ̀ŋ tʰîː hâː]; Lao: ຂົວມິດຕະພາບ ລາວ-ໄທ, [kʰǔə mittapʰâːp láːw tʰaj]) is a proposed highway bridge over the Mekong River that links the Bueng Kan Province of Thailand and Pakxan town, Bolikhamxai Province in Laos.[1][2][3]

Construction began in 2020 and is expected to take three years.[4]
