First Harvest 1984–92 is Alphaville's first "real"1 greatest-hits compilation (the 1988 compilation The Singles Collection is generally not counted by fans, consisting as it does of only four different songs, albeit with two versions each).

The cassette version of First Harvest omits "Sensations," "Red Rose" and "Big in Japan" (Culture mix)2.
