Plot[]

Season 1[]

Tarini Bisht grew up with only one goal in life, to become rich by marrying a rich man. After completing a degree in journalism, she arrives in Delhi to meet her childhood best friend Amrita "Amy" Sareen who is the daughter of Teckchand Sareen, a media tycoon. She meets Amy's fiancé, Veer Shergill who gets attracted to her. When Tarini rejects Veer, he creates a rift between her and Amy by making Amy believe that Tarini has been after him. Amy believes Veer and slaps Tarini, who feels betrayed and decides to go back home. But she refuses to accept defeat and returns to expose Veer, Teckchand and Suresh's illegal land deals by joining a upcoming rival media house. However, they buy the media house, crushing any chances of Tarini's success. Veer eventually falls in love with Tarini but she continues to refuse him. Tarini goes to Veer's house to collect evidence against him and acts as if she has fallen for him. Delighted, Veer decides not to marry Amy and runs away from his wedding, arriving at Tarini's house. When Teckchand finds this out, he sends the police to arrest Veer for the illegal deals they made, slyly clearing his name away from the deals. Tarini tells Veer that she never loved him and only faked everything to trap him and take revenge. Heartbroken, Veer tells her that he'll ruin himself for her and willingly gets arrested. Tarini goes back home to Dehradun, where Amy meets her and they reconcile.

Development[]

Casting[]

Krystle D'Souza, Aditya Seal and Anushka Ranjan were cast as Tarini Bisht, Veer Shergill and Amrita "Amy" Sareen.[5] D'Souza revealed that she was a little hesitant while shooting for the series because her fans had a different perception about her. She was extremely self-conscious of whether people would accept her as a gold digger. She feared that people would interpret her character to be a negative one.[6] Further, she added that “I have never done this kind of role before on screen. It was something new and challenging. It is very important for actors to play different types of characters, otherwise it becomes monotonous.”[7]

Release[]

The trailer for the first season of the series was launched on 9 October 2019.[8] The season started streaming on ALTBalaji and ZEE5 on 18 October 2019.[9]
