Flarid Berta Lagerlund, (born 8 February 1910) is a Swedish supercentenarian, who at the age of 111 years, 319 days, is Sweden's oldest verified living person. She is the fifth-oldest verified person ever from Sweden.

Personal life[]

Flarid Lagerlund was born on 8 February 1910 in Spånga, Sweden.[1] Her parents; Axel Teodor Karlsson and Fredrika Johannesdotter were returnee emigrants to Sweden. In the 19th-century they left for the United States. She was the fourth child in the family.[2]

Lagerlund attended school for seven years, thereafter working in cable manufacturing.[2]

In 2009, she moved to a retirement home in Täby, Sweden.[2][3]

Health and longevity[]

After the death of Carl Mattsson on 24 July 2019, she became the oldest living person in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia.[4]
