Fort Stockton Independent School District

Fort Stockton Independent School District is a public school district based in Fort Stockton, Texas, United States.

The Fort Stockton Independent School District was created in 1917 by the Texas State legislature by HB 59, Special Sessions Acts of 1917, and was organized on October 12, 1917.

The construction of the former Fort Stockton High School, on Oklahoma Street, which initiated the legislation, was completed and the school was initiated in February 1917 with C.V. Compton[1] as Superintendent.[2]

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[3]
