Francois Mathieu (born 1984) is a specialty tea entrepreneur residing in Toronto, Ontario.[1][2] He is currently the co-founder of Hojicha Co., the first company to specialize in Japanese roasted green tea (hojicha),[3][4] and one of the most popular beverage startup launch of 2018.[5][6] Prior to launching Hojicha Co., Francois headed sales & marketing teams at Toronto technology startups, including 8VC portfolio company Opencare.[7] Francois Mathieu graduated from HEC Montréal in 2012 with a certificate in Corporate Finance.

Early life and education[]

Francois was born and raised in Saint-Georges, Quebec.[8] As a teenager, he was involved in the local music scene producing concerts and designing websites for local bands.

He attended both École secondaire Notre-Dame-de-la-Trinité and Polyvalente de Saint-Georges.

While residing in Montreal, he graduated from HEC Montréal (Corporate Finance) and the Canadian Securities Institute (Personal Finance).[9]
