Frank D'Amico (December 20, 1955 – June 1, 2008) was an American actor and stand-up comedian. He was perhaps best known for playing "Armond" in the 2007 film The Dukes.[1]
Born in Mount Vernon, New York.[2] D'Amico attended at the Mount Vernon High School.[3] He began his career as a comedian, in which he was influenced from Jackie Gleason,[3] as he did stand-up in small clubs,[2] as D'Amico also did stand-up on stage at the Shooting Stars Sports Bar and Comedy Club.[3] After doing stand-up, D'Amico then later made numerous appearances in The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.[2] He also appeared in commercials, as D'Amico played the character "Big Bill" in the Home Equity commercials.[3]
D'Amico later appeared in films and television programs, as his credits includes, The Parkers, Kiss the Bride, Grounded for Life, Michael Hayes, NYPD Blue and Back to Back.[2] He also played the recurring role of "Chuck the Drain King" in Becker.[2] In 2007, he was asked to play the role of the comic character "Armond" in the film The Dukes.[4] D'Amico final credit was from the film The Flyboys, in 2008.[2]
D'Amico died in June 2008 from complications of diabetes at his home in California, at the age of 52.[2]
