From the Ashes is a studio album by the punk rock band Pennywise.[2]

Background[]

In November 2002, it was reported that the band had spent a few months in a studio, having completed 15 demos for their next album.[3] They returned to the studio in April 2003.[4]

Release[]

On June 5, 2003, From the Ashes was announced for release in three months' time; alongside this, the track listing was posted online.[5] In early-to-mid July and late July to early August 2003, the group appeared on the Warped Tour.[6] On August 4, "God Save the USA" was made available as a free download.[7] "Waiting" was posted on the band's website on August 13,[8] before being released to radio on August 19.[9] For the rest of the month, the band toured across Europe, which included appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals.[10] The album was released on September 9.[5] Most copies include a DVD on the making of the album. It was promoted with multiple releases shows across California.[11] On October 3, the band appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.[12] In December, the band performed at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas festival.[13] In January and February 2004, the band went on a tour of the US; the January shows featured Mad Caddies and Stretch Arm Strong, while the February shows included Guttermouth and Stretch Arm Strong.[14] On April 7, 2004, the band performed on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn.[15] The following month, they played a handful of dates with Authority Zero and Autopilot Off.[16] The band toured Europe as part of the Deconstruction Tour, which lasted until June.[17]
