Gary Dickson

Robert Gary Dickson is a lawyer and former member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta[1] and the first Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Gary was first elected as a member of the Alberta Liberal Party in a 1992 by-election defeating Rod Love, a well known political consultant. The by-election was called after the death of popular MLA Sheldon Chumir.

Gary was re-elected to a second and third term in the 1993 and 1997 general elections.

He retired from the legislature in 2001.

On November 1, 2003 he was appointed as the first Information and Privacy Commissioner in Saskatchewan.
