George C. Chesbro c.1985

George C. Chesbro (June 4, 1940 – November 18, 2008[1]) was an American author of detective fiction. His most notable works feature '"Dr. Robert "Mongo the Magnificent" Fredrickson"'. He also wrote the novelisation of The Golden Child, a movie of the same name starring Eddie Murphy.

Chesbro was born in Washington, D.C.. He worked as a special education teacher at Pearl River and later at Rockland Psychiatric Center, where he worked with troubled teens. Chesbro was married and had a son, a daughter and two stepdaughters.[2]
