Biography[]

At 6 ft 2 1/2 inches (189 cm), he was the tallest actor to play the role until it went to the 6’8 Tyler Mane for the remake. Wilbur played Michael Myers in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.[1] He is the first actor to play Myers more than once, followed by Tyler Mane, James Jude Courtney, and Nick Castle from the original Halloween who did a head-tilt cameo in Halloween 2018. Wilbur also was credited as a stunt player in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, another Halloween sequel, although not in the role of Michael Myers as actor and stuntman Don Shanks played the role. His career as a stuntman lasted for 40 years and involved over 100 television and film projects beginning with stand in work for John Wayne in 1966. He is a member of the Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall of Fame.

Wilbur also played extra roles in many of the films he performed in.

Wilbur also appeared in A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.

Popular culture[]

In the episode "Tom Tucker: The Man and His Dream" of the animated series Family Guy, it is stated that 'George P. Wilbur' was a stage-name in the early career of newscaster Tom Tucker. The episode also features archive footage of the nightmare scene from Halloween 4 where Wilbur (as Michael Myers) attacks Danielle Harris (as Jamie Lloyd) in her bedroom and Michael, in Tom’s voice, says “Good evening, I’m Michael Myers. I have enormous psychological problems and I’m going to take them out on you.”
