Georgiana was built in Mexico in 1800, captured in 1801, and became a whaler for Samuel Enderby & Sons. She made three whale fishing voyages for them. She then became a merchantman, trading with Curaçao, and later, Argentina. She was last listed in 1821.

Career[]

Georgiana first appears in Lloyd's Register in 1802 with Bristow, master, and Enderbys owner. Her trade was South Seas fishery.^[1]

Whaling voyage #1: Captain Charles Caesar Bristow sailed from England on 8 January 1802, bound for the waters of Peru. On 11 November she was at

00°41′N 23°13′E / 0.683°N 23.217°E / 0.683; 23.217. He returned on 31 December with 54 sperm whales, having lost three.^[2]

Whaling voyage #2: Bristow sailed from England on 29 May 1804 for the Pacific Ocean. He returned on 10 September 1805.^[2]

Whaling voyage #3: Captain William Pitts sailed from England on 12 October 1805 bound for the Pacific Ocean. She returned on 23 August 1808.^[2]

Merchantman The Register of Shipping for 1809 showed Georgiana's ownership changing from Enderbys to P. Sanders, and her master from Bristow to J.Smith. Her trade changed to London—Curaçao.^[3]
