Giuseppe Mangialavori (b. February 11, 1975 in Merano, Italy) is an Italian politician. He is a senator of the Republic of Italy and a member of the Legislature XVIII of Italy.[1][2]

Political activity[]

He began his political in 2010, when in the administrative elections of Vibo Valentia he ran for the position of city councilor in the Popolo della Libertà list in support of the candidate for mayor Nicola D'Agostino, being elected and the most voted among the councilors. This recognition allowed him to become the President of the municipal council of Vibo Valentia.

Regional elections in Calabria in 2014[]

In 2014, Mangialavori ran for the position of regional councilor, under the Casa delle Libertà political party, in support of the candidate for president Wanda Ferro, and was elected.

Political elections of 2018[]

In the 2018 general elections he indicated interest under the Forza Italia as the leading candidate in the Senate of the Republic in the Calabria plurinominal college and was elected. On 7 June, following the resignation of the regional councilor Wanda Ferro (elected to the Chamber of Deputies), Mangialavori returned to the regional council (as the first of the non-elected) as councilor, but resigned on 26 June due to his ambition in the senate. Since 9 November 2018 he is the vice president of the Forza Italia group in the Senate.[3]

He is a Member of the 9th Permanent Commission (Agriculture and agri-food production) and also sits on the committee of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the phenomenon of mafias and other criminal associations, including foreign ones.
