GoDigital Media Group (GDMG) is an American entertainment industry, media and technology company based in California founded in 2005 by Jason Peterson. GDMG focuses on intellectual property rights management and digital distribution of entertainment content through its business units which includes AdShare, Cinq Music, ContentBridge, Latido Networks, mitu’, Sound Royalties and YogaWorks.[2]

Background[]

GoDigital Media Group was founded by CEO Jason Peterson in 2005 as a music distributor, record label and film studio.[3][4][5] In 2008, the company created a digital division GoDigital, which specialized in on-demand movie distribution.[6] In 2010, Peterson started ContentBridge to offer digital supply chain management and digital rights management via SAS to major movie studios.[7] In 2014, Content Bridge won the 2014 EMA's “Industry Leadership” Digital Award for software support for the SMPTE Interoperable Master Package (IMP), CableLabs and UltraViolet digital supply chain standards.[8][9]

In 2018 Content Bridge's CEO, Jason Peterson was named as a 'top 40 under 40 power player' for 2018 by both Billboard magazine and Media Play News.[10][11] GDMG's label was subsequent rebranded Cinq Music specializing in music distribution and rights management for recording artists.

GoDigital, Inc. merged with Variance Films in January 2014, forming a new distribution entity, Amplify. GoDigital has distribution deals with YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and iTunes.[12] Video on demand partners include Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS.[12]

Acquisitions and growth[]

In 2020, GoDigital Media Group acquired multi-platform networks mitu and YogaWorks, which along with their Latido Music channel forms the programming and production core of their networks division.[13] GoDigital brought YogaWorks, the largest Yoga studio business in the U.S., out of COVID- induced bankruptcy. The company purchased YogaWorks to transform the business model as a subscription based business for health, wellness and longevity.[14][15] With mitu, GoDigital and its business units have access to A-level content production.[16][17] CEO Jason Peterson's “Content is King” philosophy for GoDigital closely resembles that of Sumner Redstone, the 80's media mogul that grew his father's drive-in theater business into a content-centric empire that included Viacom, Paramount Pictures and CBS.[17]

During pandemic in early 2020, GoDigital Media Group looked to add to its stable of entertainment holdings.[18] Already thriving at GDMG was a music division that included Cinq Music and AdShare.[19] Cinq Music is a distributor, label and publisher known for its Hip Hop/R&B repertoire from Jason Derulo, T.I., and Janet Jackson as well as Latin repertoire from Anuel, Bad Bunny, Carin Leon, Natanel Can and others.[20][21] Alongside Cinq is social media rights monetizer AdShare.[22] Managing the supply chain for both is ContentBridge, an earlier brainchild of Peterson, who banked on the world's demand for streaming entertainment content anywhere, anytime and built the first cloud-based digital supply chain orchestration and automation platform.

In 2021, GoDigital Media Group (“GDMG”) and MEP Capital (“MEP”) acquired Sound Royalties, the leading provider of financing solutions for music creators ranging from emerging artists, songwriters and producers, to platinum hitmakers such as DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Rich Robinson, and Wyclef Jean.[19][22] In May 2021, Peterson stated in Music Business Worldwide his plans for GoDigital. “We are raising tremendous amounts of money right now, we have a tremendous pipeline of acquisitions. There will be more news about deals and new financing.[17]

Services[]

AdShare is a social media (primarily YouTube content) monetization service for entertainment industry rights-holders.[23]

ContentBridge (Content Bridge LLC) is a supply chain management (SCM), digital rights management (DRM), and encoding software provider for the entertainment industry.[24] Content Bridge won the 2014 EMA's "Industry Leadership" Digital Award for software support for the SMPTE Interoperable Master Package (IMP), CableLabs and UltraViolet digital supply chain standards.[8][9]
