God's Creatures is an upcoming Irish psychological drama film directed by Saela Davis and Anna Rose Holmer. Produced by Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly, it stars Emily Watson, Paul Mescal, and Aisling Franciosi.
Premise[]
Set in a rain-swept Irish fishing village, God's Creatures tells the story of a mother who lies to protect her son and the devastating impact that choice has on her community, her family, and herself.

Production[]
God's Creatures was announced on May 22, 2019, when it was reported that Saela Davis and Anna Rose Holmer would direct a then-untitled Gothic film produced by Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly.[1] In June 2020, it was announced that BBC Film, Screen Ireland, and the Western Region Audiovisual Producer's Fund (WRAP) would finance the project.[2] In May 2021, Emily Watson and Paul Mescal joined the cast and production began that same month with cinematographer Chayse Irvin. Editing was completed by Julia Bloch.[3]
