Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary is an Indian politician representing Rajahmundry Rural constituency in Andhra Pradesh for the Telugu Desam Party. He has been elected Six times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly[1][2] and has been a general secretary of the TDP.[3] He served as Cabinet Minister for Civil Supplies.[4] As of 2014, he lived in Rajahmundry.[5]

On 18 July 2017, Chowdary and former MP Undavalli Aruna Kumar were arrested after they tried to enter a venue where the two were hosting an open debate concerning a local irrigation system.[6]
