Gordon Klein

Gordon Klein is a lecturer in accounting at the Anderson School of Management of the University of California, Los Angeles. He has written a textbook on accounting ethics.

Early life and education[]

Klein grew up in Detroit, where he attended the city schools.[1] He has a BBA from the Ross School of Business of the University of Michigan and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.[2]

Attendance policy controversy[]

In 2020, following the murder of George Floyd, Klein received media attention for his attendance policies in response to a request by a Black student for an exemption to an exam.[3] After outcry by student groups, he was placed on leave by officials of the UCLA School of Management. After an investigation, the school reinstated Klein three weeks later.[4]
