The Governor of Donetsk Oblast is the head of executive branch for the Donetsk Oblast. Due to the current war in Donbas Donetsk Oblast is since 5 March 2015 assigned as a civil–military administration.[1] Hence the Governor of Donetsk Oblast is officially called Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Civil Administration.[2]

The office of Governor is an appointed position, with officeholders being appointed by the President of Ukraine, on recommendation from the Prime Minister of Ukraine, to serve a four-year term.

The official residence for the Governor is located in Donetsk (currently relocated to Kramatorsk due to the war in Donbas[3]). The current Governor is Pavlo Kyrylenko since 5 July 2019.
