Graghanam (English: Eclipse) is an unreleased Tamil supernatural crime thriller film directed by Elan and produced by Big Print Pictures Production. The film features an ensemble cast including Kreshna, Chandran and Nandini Rai in the lead roles.

Plot[]

An eclipse affects a few people in the town. How they react and how they overcome that issue forms the story of Graghanam.[1]

Cast[]

Production[]

Director Elan (Elavarasan) had previously been signed on by C. V. Kumar to make his short film V Chithiram into a full-length feature film starring Bobby Simha in the lead role, but after the project fell through, he began scripting Graghanam.[2] Produced by PVP Cinema and Big Print Pictures Production, Prasad V. Potluri's sons Pearl and Param were given the responsibility of overseeing the film's production. Kreshna was signed to play the lead role, while Chandran was selected as the film's antagonist. Actress Nandini Rai was selected to her Tamil debut with the film after successfully completing an audition in Chennai. To prepare for her role of a model turned actress, Nandhini took acting lessons with Mime Gopi for several weeks.[3][4][5] Actors Karunakaran, Jayaprakash and Karunas were subsequently picked to portray other supporting roles in the film. The technical team of the film were given to primarily newcomers, with K. S. Sundaramurthy picked as music composer, while the cinematography was handled by Sree Saravanan, the editing done by Mani Kumaran.[6][7]

The film was launched in April 2015 with a formal ceremony marking the beginning of production.[8] The film was extensively shot during night times, with scenes featuring an eclipse also canned.[9] Chennai model Meera Mithun shot for a cameo appearance in late 2015.[10] The shoot of the film was revealed to be completed by October 2015, after which post-production work began, with Kreshna dubbing for the film during April 2016.[11]

Despite being Ilan's debut film due to film's long delay, Pyaar Prema Kaadhal became his debut release.
