Haisyn or Haysyn (Ukrainian: Га́йсин, Haysyn; Polish: Hajsyn; Russian: Га́йсин, Gaysin) is a town in central Ukraine, the administrative center of the Haisyn Raion in Vinnytsia Oblast. Its population is 25,883 (2021 est.).[1] It is located in the eastern part of the historical region of Podolia.

History[]

Hajsyn was first mentioned in 1545. Since 1566 it was part of the Bracław Voivodeship of Poland. In 1744, King Augustus III granted Hajsyn city rights. It was a royal city of Poland. After the Second Partition of Poland in 1793 it was annexed by the Russian Empire.
