Heera Group UK was a bhangra music group that originated in the early 1980s.

History[]

Heera Group was founded in 1979 by lead singer Bhupinder Bhindi, Satwant Taak, Balbir Gill and Debbi. They made an album with Punjabi singer Narinder Biba, in which Bhindi Laltonwala sang a duet. J. Kumar joined the group which was then known as Quallander Group, changing its name to Heera Group. Palvinder Dhami joined the group after encouragement from Bhindi.

Career[]

With Charnjit Ahuja's music they released the album 'Bhabi Te Nanaan Nachdi' (1983). Satwant Tak went on to become a solo singer under the name "Raga Kaka". J. Kumar also went solo with "Teri Meri Ek Jind" in Bollywood. Palvinder Dhami became a solo singer in the Punjabi folk industry. Bhindi returned but only as a songwriter, and after the group ended, he went on to write songs for other U.K.-based acts.[citation needed]
