Hello Jadoo[1] is a comic that South Korean cartoonist Lee Bin has published in 《Monthly PARTY》 since September 1997. Based on this comics, Tooniverse (CJ E&M broadcasting business division) and Atoonz co-produced animation of the same name in 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2017. It is a slightly adapted work based on the real memories of cartoonist Lee Bin, whose writing period was mainly 1979 (widely from 1978 to the early 1980s). The background is set to Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, Korea.

The early part of this comics depicts Korea's 1980s, and the latter part of this comics depicts Korea's 2000s. The episodes of Ja-doo, her family and friends bring nostalgia and memories of the past to many adult viewers in Korea. It is also showed that Korea has been influenced by cultural globalization over time in comics.[2][circular reference]

On June 12, 2019, up to 31 books were published, along with a supplementary story comics titled 《Mom is Best Friend》. In early 2010, a four-episode animation called 《Hello Jadoo - Mom is Best Friend》 was aired on Tooniverse, but it was not aired on SBS. Animation has also been exported to Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, because it is popular regardless of gender or age in Korea.[2]
