Hemerorhinus opici is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm/snake eels).[1] It was described by and Marie-Louise Bauchot in 1972.[2] It is a marine, tropical eel which is known from the eastern Atlantic Ocean, including Senegal and Angola. It inhabits shallow waters near to shore, and forms burrows in sand and mud substrates. Males can reach a maximum total length of 32.5 centimetres (12.8 in).[1]
