Higashi-Okayama Station (東岡山駅, Higashi-Okayama-eki) is a railway station in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West).

Lines[]

Higashi-Okayama Station is served by the Sanyo Main Line and the Akō Line, and lies 136.1 km from the starting of the Sanyo Main Line at Kōbe Station.

History[]

The station opened on 18 March 1891, initially named Nagaoka Station (長岡駅).[1] It was renamed Saidaiji Station (西大寺駅) on 1 January 1906, becoming Higashi-Okayama from 20 March 1961.[1]

With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.[1]
