High Prosperity Terrace (Chinese: 高盛臺) is a public housing estate in Kwai Shing, Kwai Chung, New Territories, Hong Kong near Kwai Shing West Estate and Tai Wo Hau Estate. Formerly the site of Kwai Lok Temporary Housing Area (Chinese: 葵樂臨時房屋區),[3] it consists of two residential blocks completed in 2003.

History[]

Originally a Private Sector Participating Scheme (PSPS) estate which was jointly by developed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and Supertime Holdings, however it was transferred to public rental housing in 2002. Its tent are now fixed at 10% above the best rents of the district concerned in view of their higher standard of finishes and fittings.[4][5]

Demographics[]

According to the 2016 by-census, High Prosperity Terrace had a population of 3,002. The median age was 37.5 and the majority of residents (95.2 per cent) were of Chinese ethnicity. The average household size was 4 people. The median monthly household income of all households (i.e. including both economically active and inactive households) was HK$27,250.[1]

Politics[]

High Prosperity Terrace is located in Kwai Shing West Estate constituency of the Kwai Tsing District Council.[6] It was formerly represented by Ivy Leung Ching-shan, who was elected in the 2019 elections until October 2021.[7]
