Gameplay[]

Gameplay footage of High on Life was released at Gamescom 2022. The footage shows the single-player, first-person shooter nature of the game.[5] The game has also been confirmed to be exclusively single-player and will be localized (text-only) in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.[6]

Development[]

The original High On Life trailer was released at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12, 2022 with an anticipated release of October 2022[7]. A two-month delay was announced on August 18, 2022 however that set the release date to December 13, 2022 with the stated reason being to finish polishing the game.[8][9]

Justin Roiland, known best for being co-creator of Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites, is said to be heavily involved in the creation of High on Life. He has received credit for creating the original concept of the game and taking part in the design and development of it.[6] Design director Erich Mayr has described the style of the game to be "Blade Runner meets The Muppets."[10]
